Vegan Spicy Chicken Sandwiches – crispy, hot vegan”chicken” patties, layered with spicy mayo and dish pepper jack cheese. I really like take out hot poultry sandwithes when I was a little kid.
Any sort f crispy poultry in sandwich shape has been my first head into once we led to this driveway through. These vegetarian hot chicken sandwiches are an ode for my young cravings.
Spicy white-bean”chicken” patties crusted in hot bread wedges, layered with spicy mayo and dish pepper jack cheese.
Ingredients:
For the Spicy “Chicken”
- 1 Can (15oz.) Cannellini Beans
- 1 Tbsp Olive oil
- 1/3 Cup Vegetable broth
- 2 Tbsp Soy sauce
- 2 Tsp Chili glue or sriracha
- 1 Cup Vital wheat gluten
- 1/3 +1/2 Cup Panko bread crumbs, split
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 1/2 Tsp Pepper
- 1/2 Cup Plain Breadcrumbs, vegan
- 1 Tsp Red pepper flakes
- 1/2 Tsp Chili powder
For the Spicy Mayo
- 1/3 cup vegan mayo
- 2 tsp hot sauce
For the Sandwiches
- 4 Hamburger Buns, vegan
- 4 Slices Vegan pepper jack cheese, I used Follow your Heart
- Lettuce
Directions:
- Pre heat the oven to 400 degrees(F).
- Drain the beansand put them to some large mixing bowl. Mash the beans with a fork or potato masher until most of the beans have been mashed.
- Add the coconut oil, vegetable broth, soy sauce and chili paste or sriracha into the bowl with the legumes. Subsequently stir to completely combine.
- Then pour the vital wheat glutenfree, the 1/3 cup of pankosalt and simmer to the bowl.
- Stir to mix, then start to knead with your hands until the mixture forms a great ball which isn’t tacky and holds together well.
- In a different bowlcombine the rest 1/2 cup of panko, the bread wedges, the red pepper flakes as well as the chili powder.
- Subsequently, divided the”chicken” mix into 4 equal pieces.
